This dock works well with my Droid 3. With its insert in place, the phone fits easily onto the two connectors, especially if you place the phone in the holder in a bit of a rocking motion, starting with the connector side. My phone fits with its case left on when I remove the insert from the dock. I do wish that the dock were a bit heavier, which would make it feel more substantial and stable. The dock for my old Droid 2 was noticeably heavier than this one.

I wanted to use this mostly to make my phone a better alarm clock, but I also wanted to be able to show off my pictures and the Droid 3's 1080P video to my friends - this dock works perfectly for both. Some people have complained about the cases not fitting, and that was also a problem for me when I used the case that verizon bundled with my D3 (the one with the kickstand). But I bought an aftermarket case (Case Mate - Barely There Slim Case) and now it fits onto the dock perfectly. You just have to pop the little tray insert off the dock first.

Pros
- Alarm clock feature has worked without a hitch for months
- Easy access to music controls while in bedside mode
- Easy access to weather/large display clock/calendar/e-mail in productivity mode.
- HDMI makes my pictures and video look excellent on my 42 inch plasma TV.

Cons
- I had to shop around to find a case that is compatible with the dock

The very negative reviews made me hesitate buying this, but this is the only one available; I am glad I bought it. I only needed this as a bedside cradle, and not for synching with my MAC, and this is perfect for just that. My phone is a Verizon Motorola Droid 3, and unlike some others, I have no issues with fitting this into the cradle, and am actually using the extended battery. So far, it is exactly what I wanted.
